Davina and Anna
Davina Finn
Davina was raised in Ottawa, Ontario and completed her Bachelors of Science at Queen’s University. She is 21 years old and a member of the Jewish faith. Community development and social action initiatives play a prominent role in her life.
She has been actively involved in many leadership positions including the Queen’s Project on International Development (QPID), the Arts and Science Undergraduate Society (ASUS), Motivate Canada and the Canadian Millennium Scholarship Foundation.
Having graduated with a theatre specialisation from an arts-based high school, Davina continued to use her passion of theatre for educational and advocacy purposes.
In Rwanda, Davina volunteered with the organisation Rwandans Allied for Peace and Progress (RAPP), which brings street-theatre productions around the country to educate about social and health issues including the prevention of HIV/AIDS and malaria and the reduction of domestic violence.
Anna Siu
Anna Siu is a 26-year-old Christian. She was born in Japan, raised by Vietnamese-Chinese parents, and brought up in Toronto. Nurtured in a Buddhist family, she came to faith in Jesus Christ at the age of 17.
Graduating with a sociology degree from the University of Waterloo, she came back to Toronto to complete her Bachelor of Education degree at the Ontario Institute of Studies in Education, University of Toronto. A professor once challenged her class with this question: “Now that you know of these issues in society, what are you going to do about it?” That question changed Anna’s life. She now has a passion for teaching and believes that education is fundamental to ending the poverty cycle
