Nina Pine [9 posts]St Mary's Secondary school students use simple act of solidariTEA to make a difference
SolidariTea has inspired St. Mary Catholic Secondary School in joining the movement to fight against Malaria. Mr. Stanesic and the St. Mary Student Ambassadors dedicated time and effort in promoting SolidariTea throughout the school.
The Ambassadors organized a bake sale that raised $159.00 that will go to the purchase and distribution of bed nets. The bake sale happened on December 14, 2010 over all three lunch periods. In addition to donations, the Ambassadors gathered 250 signatures for the Faiths Act Declaration.
The Ambassadors also promoted SolidariTea by displaying numerous powepoints the day of the bake sale and distributing pledge forms to all the homeroom classes. It was an inspiring day for students of St. Mary CSS. The community is confident that it helped change the lives of many through these donations. This simple act of solidarity has made a difference."
