Seven women from three faiths decide to start a new interfaith project at SolidariTEA in Harrow
On Monday 20th December 2010 I held a “Solidaritea” event at my home.
The bad weather and lack of transport did not hinder us. 7 ladies attended in all. We shared food and socialised and drank plenty of tea! We had various faiths re[resented Hindus, jain and Muslim.
We talked about family life and our communities and how having faith helps influences us in our day to day life. We brought plenty of Solidaritea between us. Bhartiben Tailor from the HinForum attend and gave an interesting presentation, giving us an insight on Faiths around the World.
We did not raise significant money but discussed a new initiative which could assist our local community with health issues. We would like to create database of resources where people from ethnic minorities can access information about health in different languages.. We will be meeting shortly to discuss this further.
It was lovely meeting everyon afternoon, I look forward to another one next year.
