Pakistani schoolchildren close to home by supporting staff at their school
We arranged a get together with our gardners, sweepers, and peon, the majority from Hindu community, Christian and some Muslims. We had a cup of tea, and discussed their social, health, and economic progress and problems. My sociology students were also there. Really it was a wonderful experience to listen to and know about the problems of these poor people from different religions. The problems were not only economic but also social, religious, financial, and educational.
Right now we discussed and advised them about some basic remedies and concentrating on their children education, religious harmony in their community and inter faith understanding. Next week there will be another meeting where we shall discuss the previous meeting discussion and evaluation. What they did for themselves and about the community? I hope very soon it will begin to bear fruit and must help in improving the awareness and solution of some very basic problems.
